KBS has some 30 direct employees, and a region-wide network of over 200 contractors, covering all building trades. Our site supervisors have a broad range of experience, including metro building sites, construction, and maintenance of industrial buildings, the construction of new domestic houses from scratch, and maintenance of older domestic properties.

Kepal Building Services (KBS) takes immense pride in its role of upgrading and maintaining state-owned public housing properties. Recognising the importance of supporting the families within these communities, we actively engage with our key clients to identify those most in need of assistance. This longstanding community support initiative has been a cornerstone of our work for many years.
Over the past four years alone, KBS has provided valuable support to a total of 19 Victorian families, comprising 41 children. Through our efforts, these families have received essential supplies such as uniforms, books, school fees, and K-mart vouchers. We are dedicated to making a tangible difference in the lives of these families, ensuring they have the necessary resources to thrive.
Additionally, demonstrating our commitment to global citizenship, during a recent trip to Bali, the owner of KBS, Paul, made a meaningful contribution by donating a substantial amount of school materials to a local Balinese primary school. We believe in extending our impact beyond borders and actively engaging with communities around the world.
KBS also goes beyond individual sponsorships by actively supporting local communities through sponsorship of basketball teams, soccer clubs, cricket clubs, and a motocross team. By nurturing these local sporting and recreational initiatives, we aim to foster a sense of unity, camaraderie, and personal growth within the communities we serve.

Having dedicated staff in each of these departments enables Kepal to have a more intimate relationship with both renters and clients, have a better understanding of specific issues, improves the development of relationships and expectations with all tradespeople and clients, as well as allowing a single point of contact at KBS for all.
The growth of the Kepal business of the past two years has required us to employ more staff, both administration and tradespeople. This increase in resource enables us to be a more flexible and responsive business, having a variety of tradespeople on our books to utilize as required, Lessening the need to use sub contractors who may have their own priorities and work loads, and are therefore not as responsive or available all of the time.

PAUL HOLMES
DIRECTOR
Paul’s story is one of taking an opportunity when it presents itself, then working your butt off to turn the dream into a reality!
Paul started out as an employee of Kepal when they were based in Shepparton, country Victoria. He was working for the then owners Ken and Paul, when one owner wanted to retire and the other wanted out, they offered the debt ridden business to Paul. Paul focussed on a couple of key parts of the business, insurance and responsive maintenance.
As the business grew and more of the workload was focussed around the Bendigo region, they decided to move from Shepparton to Bendigo, where they have been based for over 7 years.
The business continues to grow at a steady rate, employing a variety of trades and contractors.
Paul’s work ethic is still the same today as when he started, he believes in working hard, communicating well, exceeding the clients expectations and surrounding yourself with good people. With this as a platform we can choose which way to take the business into the future.
ANDREW BROWN
OPERATIONS MANAGER
Andrew has come on board to support Paul and the business from an internal structure perspective. Andrew comes from a trade background but not from the building industry, the experience that he has brought into the business is his managerial experience along with a very process driven focus.
His main focus points relate to the improving of business processes, putting additional structures in place, and along with Paul and Jen has become a valued member of the Kepal management team, involved in all aspects of the business as required.
JENETTE LENAHAN
ADMINISTRATION & FINANCE
Jen brings a wealth of financial and administrative knowledge to Kepal. Being a multi-tasker, she is always keeping an eye on how the business is performing, as well as ensuring that the supporting roles of the business are being held accountable for their responsibilities.
Jen is the glue that binds the whole business together, and not too many decisions are made without her input.
AMANDA HOBBS
PROJECT CO-ORDINATOR
Amanda has the claim to fame of being Paul’s first administrative employee. Amanda has extensive building industry experience and has proven herself many times over when called to work through challenging issues.
Amanda has a very well regarded reputation in the industry, often managing projects in the million dollar range. She is easily recognised by her ever present smile and has an amazing ability to “pull a rabbit out of a hat” when in times of difficulty.
